MGMT - Electric Feel

First of all, sorry for not having posted for a while. I was on vacation in Spain. Lovely weather.

Everyone from Europe has got to know MGMT. If you don't, shame on you.
Kids is probably their most popular song, I like Electric Feel way more though.
Their psychaedelic sound, the bassline and guitarriffs. One word for MGMT, phenomenal!

So here's MGMT with their song Electric Feel. Close your eyes and please enjoy.

Funk Up My Monday

Feeling blue today. Probably because it's monday. Monday's, what's not to say about them? They suck. Big time.

Last weekend we had a national festive day, Koninginnedag. The night before is called "Koninginnenach". Chef'Special played during Koninginnenach in The Hague. They were fantastic. Funky hip-hop, that's their style.

Transformers - Dark of the Moon

Seriously.. Why does Shia LaBeouf get to work with a shit-load of hot chicks?
The first and second Transformers movie : Megan fox (Everyone knows her)
Everyone remembers Disturbia right? : Sarah Roemer (That blonde chick from Fired up)
And now the third Transformers movie : Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Victoria's Secret model)

Anyhow. Transformers. Kinda the same type of movie like the ones before; World gets invaded by robots and there are a fuckload of explosions, awesome explosions. Ow yeah forgot to mention our dear Rosie, sweet set of legs.

So here's the trailer, looking out for this one.

The Naked & Famous

What a name. If I could steal a name from some other band for my own band I'd defo steal this one. The Naked & Famous, unheard of by some, loved by others.

They succeed in mixing alternative rock and electropop. I've come to mention them because they've been confirmed for Lowlands Festival back here in the Netherlands. Great festival, great fucking festival.

So here's The Naked & Famous with Punching in a Dream

Some Kind of Jazz

So I felt like listening some Jazz today. I listened to some BB King and Miles Davis. Now that's the old-skool Jazz. BB on his Gibson ES and the standard blues-progressions, Miles on his trumpet. I "incidentally" clicked on Goldfish. I almost forgot how great they are.

Goldfish. Probably unknown for a lot of you. They're from South-Africa and they make wonderful music. Jazzy Electro is what I'd call it. Cruising Through is my favourite. The sax-riff is amazing and the song has a hip-hop element thanks to the rapper.

Great song. Cruising Through by Goldfish

Phoenix

Phoenix is a band from Versailles, near Paris. Yeah, Paris as in Paris from France. I've been listening to their album "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" for a few months and I must say, Phoenix is amazing. You should definately listen to Lisztomania and Fences. If you like 'em, have a go at their album. Pleasure guaranteed!

Enjoy, Phoenix with 1901

Dubstep Dinsdag

So, it's tuesday. Dinsdag is Tuesday in Dutch. So here's Noisia's track Alpha Centauri with a tour-video. Notice how if you flip the word NOISIA upside down and around you get the word VISION, how about that huh?

Dubstep is underrated for sure. All that house-crap out there. Give me some more Dubstep!

Two Door Cinema Club

Seriously, these guys are the tits. They've got a lot of great songs. What You Know, Something Good Can Work, I Can Talk... But my favourite is Undercover Martyn for sure. Especially because I love to play that riff on my own guitar.

So here's Undercover Martyn by Two Door Cinema Club, live at the Nouveau Casino in Paris. Damn, I wish I'd have been there.

The National

In the Netherlands we say "Gouwe Ouwe", that's how I'd describe the National.
They've been around for some while now. Bloodbuzz Ohio is by far my favourite song of the National.
